Welcome aboard The Ark in Torquay!

We are open from 9.00am – 6.00pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 10.00am – 4.00pm on Sundays. We offer a local home delivery service on Tuesday’s and Friday’s, if you spend over £20 with us your delivery will be absolutely free, if your total doesn’t quite add up to £20, we are still happy to deliver for a small fee. There is a free car park just behind our store where you can park for free for up to an hour, we are more than happy to assist you to your car with any items.

We keep a wide range of small animals, as well as a variety of reptiles and cold water and tropical fish. Please get in touch if you would like to know our prices and current stock. We also have two micro pigs that live with us here at The Ark, they are called Charlie and Lola, if you pop in to say hello and can’t seem them, they will be outside in their play pen sunbathing, or playing in the mud – just ask a member of staff where they are!

If you are looking for any products or livestock that we don’t keep, we will always do our best to source it for you.

A lot of our staff within the group have qualifications in animal care, all of our staff are trained in house to the highest standards and we pride ourselves on our Customer Service and Livestock Care.

We also have a self-service Dog Wash in store, we provide you with shampoo’s, towel’s, dryer’s, brushes and sprays, so the only thing you need to remember is your mucky pup!

I have worked for the company since 2011. I love my job and enjoy working with animals, I currently have a one year old cat called Cinders, I have also had dogs in the past including a Newfoundland which is my favourite breed.

I’ve been working at the ark since July 2014 as a pet sales advisor, no two days are the same here. I enjoy knowing that all of the animals go to good homes.

I have worked since April 2017 and I love being around all the animals every day. I have a 7 year old cat called crackles who I'm obsessed with, and also 2 dwarf hamsters and some fish.
